About

Studio Metél' is an international design practice, based in Munich, Germany, founded in January 2023 by Edoardo Laner.

The blizzard, translated as snow storm (Russian: Метель, tr. Metél'), is legendary through Russian winter, told by writers and poets, it causes awe in the human soul but also stimulates dreams, reflection, detachment, in a sort of “fairytale half-sleep”. At the same time, it requires constant alertness to survive the nature surrounding it - the blizzard, the snowstorm - has tempered the inhabitants of great north, making them stronger and complete.

We interpret global changes and environmental needs, experimenting languages and catalysing the potential of places.

Our work has a vast international vocation, and our projects range from landscape transformation strategies to interventions and enhancements of the urban environment, masterplanning, strategies and visions to strengthen the identity of places and environmental improvements, giving shape to the need to rethinking both urban spaces and the surrounding environments.

We design, plan visions and projects that are functionally and socially stable, interconnected with the surrounding network, productive and environmentally efficient, implementing biodiversity.

We are passionate about strategic planning and curious to experiment with new forms and concepts applicable to the vast world of design, for sustainable development.

We feel inspired by the world of art and literature, which represent for us a source of inspiration and a key to understanding the contemporary world.

Edoardo Laner graduated in Landscape Architecture from Agripolis Campus of the Università degli Studi di Padova (Italy), Master in Landscape Architecture from Instituto Superior de Agronomia da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa(Portugal).

The projects here displayed are a series of pleasing results, singled out for value and significance, of working as a member of the teams of TREIBHAUS Landschaftsarchitektur (Hamburg), Rainer Schmidt Landschaftsarchitekten und Stadtplaner (München/Berlin), Rehwaldt Landscape Architects (Dresden), PROAP Arquitectura Paisagista (Lisboa/Treviso) , and other occasional working groups.
